2008 is NCLA's 50th birthday and we're having a party!

Take a trip down memory lane with us, enjoy special treats, and celebrate the past, present and future of church library ministry.

Time to celebrate!

1958 . . . Ricky Nelson tops the pop charts, Vertigo is showing at the movies, and first class stamps increase to $.04.

2008 . . . Downloads displace CDs, DVDs show nightly on plasma screens in home theaters, and email fills inboxes.

The world was different when NCLA was formed 50 years ago. Times have changed, but library ministry continues to be a vital part of church life.

Are you in tune with the latest developments?  Join us for the 2008 NCLA biennial conference where you and librarians from around the country  celebrate and enrich church library ministry.

Your 2008 NCLA Conference includes:

  • Forty Workshops to expand your knowledge and energize your spirit! Open this brochure for devils about this year's exciting workshops.

How does one buy a ticket to see Church Basement Ladies 2? I can go to the link to buy just a ticket, but would like the ticket that includes transportation to the Plymouth Playhouse, show ticket, and themed dinner. I can't seem to see what kind of a ticket that would be. Thanks for any help or information on this. Brian E. Parkman

Information about reserving a ticket for the show, dinner, and transportation, all at the special NCLA conference group rate, is included on our conference registration form. A link to download the form can be found at the top of the conference webpage. Partipants must be registered for the conference as an attendee, presentor, or exibitor. My plans are to drive up from Arkansas. Would you give me a hint as to the weather & driving conditions usually seen at this time of year? Thank you.

The weather in the Minneapolis area will be cooler than you are used to in Arkansas. Normal temperatures for that time of year are upper 30's to upper 40's. There is a chance of snow but not very likely. So bring a coat and maybe driving gloves because your steering wheel will get cold! But no need to worry about tire chains or anything extreme like that.

A good fun site to look at for driving tips is: http://www.cartalk.com/content/features/WinterDriving/ One thing to especially check is your radiator. Make sure the coolant in it is good to 0 degrees just in case we do get a real extreme temperature swing.

If you have any other questions please post another comment or email info@churchlibraries.org. Chris Magnusson
